“It’s to have another philosophy podcast that ventures into non-analytical territory. The speakers are clearly invested in Lacan (especially following Zizek). I’m happy to hear someone engage with Lacan without dismissing him for being unreadable or merely a literary theorist. Lacan (especially late-Lacan) proves that psychoanalysis has real consequences for our political lives. I’ll also excuse their dismissal of Deleuze (even though I believe him to be more sympathetic to Lacan than was presented). I also understand the skepticism of Foucault, who considered Deleuze to have not burned his bridge with Freud...although, I also think the point about Foucault emphasizing intention clearly misses the point with Foucault...I’m not sure that he believes in agency. I would argue that his notion of power is akin to Hegel’s Geist, but Foucault certainly disavowed any traces of Freud. Anyways, I have enjoyed my journey into Lacan. Good job!”
