Mommas like me
Thank you so very much for creating this podcast and this community. I have been homeschooling for 8 years. My husband and I live in Zambia, Africa and the homeschool community here is quite small. I have always felt like the black sheep of the homeschool community here because all the other mothers are very structured and curriculm based and I have always been the free spirit. While their kids are taking exams my kids are exploring and diving into their interests. Recently my 7th grader was asked why she doesn't do school and was being looked down upon becuase we don't do distinct subjects or testing. It made her feel like we were failing in our homeschooling. I was able to explain to her that we weren't stuck in the "system" that everyone else is and we explored all the subjects she is learning as she dives into her interests. This community has given me so many ideas that we have incorporated into our homeschooling. You have given me a place where I feel like I belong. You have given me encouragement to keep going and not tie ourselves into the "system" because everyone else is. My husband recently commented on how he sees our kids blossoming and flurishing when before we transitioned to intrest led learning they were feeling defeated and unintelligent. Your podcast and content bundles are something I get so excited about each month that my husband has been asking at the end of each month when they will come out. And he loved the Father's bundle. Thank you for all the effort and time you put into this. It is greatly appreciated and you have been a tremmendous blessing to our family.Read full review »

I love this podcast so much! Honestly, I don’t even have children yet but listening to these mamas is so encouraging! They’re tender-hearted and lots of what they talk about relates not only to homeschooling, but to my adult life too! I can’t wait to have children and homeschool them like these...Read full review »

Your podcast is the only one I subscribe to. I enjoy its informality and appreciate the opportunity to learn from moms who are homeschooling kids of different ages. Thank you, Wild and Free, for this fantastic (and free!) resource.
