Fooling his audience
For years Ray Hennessy built his audience on a premise to be "different" by strongly pushing his style of shooting wide aka "small in hte frame" and often backlit. If you listen to this podcast he strongly believes in this style and it seems that he picks his guest on the same premise. So, why in the world would he submit a close up, front lit, photograph for the 2021 BPOTY contest?!? If one spends so much time to convince others to be different why would he chose this particular photograph to submit? The image I refer to is the image he placed a 2nd place in the 2021 Bird Photograph of the Year. Isn’t it pathetic that he constantly preaches to shoot wide/small in the frame but he submits a mediocre close up shot of Common Loons? In my opinion, he lost his full integrity and premise of this podcast! Too all his followers, please open your eyes! You are being fooled and simply used! He cares about one thing, to make money out of you! He tells us one thing but does the opposite! Fool me ones... I jsut feel sorry for the people he is menotring. The "other" Ray had a good feeling to bail on Hennessy. He does much better without Hennessy's "mentoriship". Just take a look at his IG account how much he grew when he left this podcast. Open your eyes people!Read full review »

Keep it coming. Love learning how others get their images and the real efforts that go into the process. Nice to finally here more about research, motivations, passion and the stories behind the images rather than concentrate on all the technical aspects.

Unless you are shooting silhouettes, according to the hosts, you are a boring photographer. They try to push their “creativity”so much that anything but silhouette shots are not recognized. It looks like they are using podcast platform to simply gain more Instagram followers and sell their...Read full review »
