Great Content, Horrible Audio
Chris Kohler is a great host and one of the most knowledgeable hosts in the video game podcast universe. The discussions are to the point, relevant and fun to listen to. They are also always clean to listen to so I can enjoy the podcast with my son on drives to sport events and what not and have something to talk to him about. That being said, the show’s audio quality is absolutely abysmal. However the set ups is, Chris sounds like he is being recorded from a Fisher-Price microphone placed next to a computer running Skype. The quality of the show is frankly insulting given Wired’s reputation for being a tech magazine making listening in the car practically impossible. Even with headphones the audio so absent and presence and flooded with low and mid range frequency it is nearly impossible to listen to. If you can get past the atrocious audio, the podcast is still one of the best ones out there.
