Enriching, entertaining, and enlivening
Ken Wise chooses interesting aspects of Texas history and dives in. Each episode is deeply researched, and Judge Wise relates each one comfortably, as if you were a friend discussing these events with him over coffee. He doesn't hit just famous events—the Alamo; LBJ's 1948 election—but even when he does, he finds the interesting personalities and behind-the-scenes happenings that bring each of them to life. And he closes each episode with directions to the places (and sometimes the documents) where each event happened, so enterprising history buffs can see where the history was made. Those interested in history will appreciate the research and detail that fill every detail. Those interested in Texas history will appreciate hearing about the personalities and interactions that show that, even from the beginning, things were just bigger in Texas.Read full review »

More reviews of Wise About Texas
Being a great great granddaughter of Jacob Brodbeck, I have heard his story of flight my entire life. Judge Wise’s account was informative and well presented showing his encyclopedic knowledge of all things Texas history. Thanks for showcasing Jacob and for being such an ardent supporter.

I absolutely love this show! I’m going back and catching up on all of the old episodes that I missed. I can’t get enough of it, and as a non-Texan, I’m learning more about the Texas Revolution every minute. Keep up the amazing work!
