Perfect Short-Format Show for History Lovers
I love listening to podcasts about history, but I’ve often found them to be too long to listen to while commuting, before bed, or on a walk (all the times when I typically find myself wanting to listen to a podcast). BBC’s Witness is informative, thoroughly researched, well-edited, easily digestible, and respectful to the those whose stories are being told, whether they’re the ones being interviewed or not (particularly in the cases of older stories), and I don’t think it’s ever more than 10 or so minutes, usually less. I love that there’s a range of topics — some serious, others silly, always interesting — so no matter your mood, you can find an episode that matches it.

I enjoy this podcast because you get to hear from people who actually witnessed an event, not just reporters relating stories. It is a different perspective than what you normally hear from the media.

There are topics presented here that even a news and information junkie like me didn’t know about. I listen to atleast one, if not more, everyday! Little snippets of knowledge packed into each episode. I highly recommend it!
