Really good!
World Review has established itself surprisingly quickly and has a format that works well with skilful use of strong guests. At first I was irritated by questions from the hosts that were really prolonged statements but I’ve got used to this - these are discussions not interviews. Jeremy Cliffe is measured, with a broad perspective. Emily Tamkin is more obviously passionate, sometimes a bit too exasperated and then I struggle to hear everything she says - but she is a shrewd commentator whose views are always worth hearing. Ido Vock adds another welcome voice with a real knowledge of parts of the world too often neglected in British news coverage. It’s no wonder that he has been asked to step up for Jeremy occasionally. Any negatives? Maybe I am misunderstanding something, but more than once Jeremy has said he will add a link in the podcast notes to something he has referred to. I look in the notes and it’s not there!

There are clear sounds of the hosts or one of them eating and drinking while a guest is speaking. It is annoying for listeners to say the least. If you are doing a podcast might as well do it with respect to the listeners.

This is a really interesting and incisive take on the major issues in world affairs; it manages to be concise but expansive, detailed without being overwrought. Emily and Jeremy are great hosts whose questions lead to fascinating discussion with a range of equally fascinating guests. I’m hooked.
