“I was looking forward to leaving a review of this fun and educational show after hearing the first couple of episodes...and on the way I saw a few of the other reviews from some rather apoplectic folks. Wow! No wonder it took NPR around 40 years to gin up the courage to put out something with kids and families in mind, there's no winning for some folks. Have courage, NPR! This show is what you need.
Something the Muppets might have taught some of these rather serious parents - Silly is not the same as Not Smart. There are so many ways to deliver information to kids and families; and they're all empowering, because we're all getting smarter. I think that's the point?
For my part, I'm so glad that this show doesn't sound like an NPR podcast for adults that was 'kidified', or like another class period at school that my kids didn't sign up for.
(and side note: I think that other podcasts and their associates planting some tank reviews is kind of gauche...that was pretty clear in some of the early reviews)”Read full review »

“Why must you talk down to kids? They don't need that stupid banter to be engaged. Just present the interesting subject matter and they will be into it. Mindy acts like an idiot. “My 7 year old and I loved the first episode and can't wait to hear more. We loved the panda story! My daughter also thought finding a planet in your room sounded pretty silly. As a parent that listens to Guy's other podcasts it was fun to hear him get goofy on this new podcast!”Read full review »
