Sets the standard
Without question one of the best shows ever produced by CBC, and consistently so for decades, Writers respects its audience and is inviting to all kinds of readers. Eleanor is the quiet Queen of the CBC. If you only read the writers she interviews, you would be well served, and alongside such readable reviews as the New Yorker and the Literary Review of Canada, Writers is a solid reference for literary insight.

What a great podcast. I listen to every one of them, always meeting new people and launching explorations of authors I have often not met before. Eleanor Wachtel is such a perfect interviewer--so smart, so open, so in touch with her guest. I hope this podcast continues forever!

Thank you EW for turning me on to so many writers. Thanks to you I’ve discovered Hillary Mantel, Pat Barker, Julian Barnes to name just three. I always look forward to and enjoy your talks with John le Carré (whom I believe to be the premier writer in the English language). Again, thank you.
