They're simply the best...
Better than all the rest....better than anyone....anyone I've ever met. Okay, I've never met these guys, and more than likely I never will, but I say to myself its okay, because of the old teachings (biblical?) about never meeting your heroes. I've been listening to Writers Blockbusters for a very very long time. I've written them fan mail. I get excited when they write back! I drop what I'm doing when a new podcast comes out. I find myself laughing along with them throughout the pod, feeling like I'm with them in a recording session. They are unlike any other screenwriting podcast I listen to because of the way they structure each episode. They get personal, they discuss some history behind the movies, and my GOD the tips and teachings they one gets - its like sitting in a film class. And I've taken many a film class! Honestly, this review could go on and on with what I like, how they make me laugh, how I always walk away with so much new information and insight into the films I love and how to apply it to others and my own work....but alas, how does one capture perfection. There's nothing I dislike about the podcast EXCEPT I don't know how they don't have a larger fanbase. They deserve a huge audience! I'll always be there front e-row clapping and screaming maniacally for Jamie, Jimmy, and Bob - like my mom at a Tina Turner concert (RIP). Keep it up fellas!Read full review »

More reviews of Writers/Blockbusters Screenwriting Podcast
I learned so much from your discussion of Dune, because it went way beyond the world of Dune; the best world building was scriptwriting lessons; can’t wait to expand my scriptwriing world even more in the next episode.

The way this crew breaks down the craft of putting together a script is fun and interesting, chock full of tidbits and techniques. I love learning why certain movies, characters, plots, arcs hit so much harder than others. Everytime I listen to an episode I always leave it loving a film even...Read full review »

This is the podcast I can’t put down! I’m learning so much. One of my favorite writing techniques that you’ve discussed throughout many episodes has been “good news, bad news.” Wow, such a powerful tool, you discus, that films use. If Jamie’s “interestingly enough” has not made it to the bingo...Read full review »
