Writing Excuses is my favorite fiction writing podcast and not just for "genre" writing. I love the fifteen-minute format, including a homework assignment at the end of each one. I also love the thoughtful structure of the past two seasons (10-11). Despite never having read the work of the hosts (or often even the guests), I always find their examples, experiences, and insights helpful to my work. Best of all, they jumpstart my own thinking about my writing projects as well as my habits of art. When I'm not motivated to write, an episode of Writing Excuses gets me excited about going back to work.Read full review »

I’ve listened to all the episodes twice. Not only are they informative, but I find so much inspiration as the presenters talk. Their collective experience is awesome, and the guest panelists always add to the mix. One day I want to get on one of the cruises!!
