Not what I was expecting
While I realize that this is an "opinion" podcast, I was hoping for a more objective, well-balanced podcast. But the viewpoints of the three hosts are all decidedly one-sided (conservative) without much discussion of counterpoints. I realize that WSJ always tended to be conservative in tone, but its articles over the years have adopted a more conservative tone under Rupert Murdoch. And this podcast hews to the opinions of the editorials. Also, the hosts sometimes gloss over significant points. For instance, in a recent podcast regarding Gen. Flynn's ouster, they focused on the significance of plugging the leaks (which was in line with WSJ's editorial on this matter). Yes, the leaks are troublesome, but the hosts glossed over the significance of the following: (1) if Flynn didn't do anything wrong, why was he fired? (2) Why wasn't Pence looped into this matter by the President or the White House Counsel before appearing on Face the Nation? Did Trump knowingly allow his VP to lie to the public? If not, why didn't Trump (or the White House counsel) alert Pence after the interview took place? I may listen to this podcast from time to time, but I will stick with the NPR Politics app for a more balanced discussion.Read full review »

More reviews of WSJ Opinion: Potomac Watch
Host does very little research on subjects, and has many preconceived notions. Only gets guests who reinforce his own biases and crazy conspiracy theories. It's a cross between Fox and InfoWars without the intellect (should tell you how the conversation is going).Read full review »

Insightful comments and not afraid to call either side of the isle out for bad decisions.

If you are looking for a counterpoint to NYT or New Yorker podcasts (both of which I admire), Potomac Watch offers an excellent "non-crazy" alternative perspective from the traditional Right. While its point-of-view is rather predictable, the argumentation is solid and (for the most...Read full review »
