30th Sutra Chapter 2: 3rd Yama: Asteya
The third of the yama is Asteya
- a synthesis of contentment, simplicity, and charity.
When there is this inner light,
one manifests in himself the virtue of non-stealing.
And that the key to abundance lies in giving.

अहिंसासत्यास्तेयब्रह्मचर्यापरिग्रहा यमाः
ahimsasatyasteyabrahmacharyaparigraha yamah
· ahimsa - non-violence
· satya - truth fulness
· asteya - non-stealing
· brahmacharya - continence
· aparigraha - non-possessiveness, non-greed
· yamah - external discipline, attitude towards others

अहिंसा , सत्य , अस्तेय , ब्रह्मचर्य , अपरिग्रहा: , यमाः॥
• अहिंसा - अहिंसा
• सत्य - यथार्थ ज्ञान
• अस्तेय - अस्तेय(चाेरी का अभाव)
• ब्रह्मचर्य - ब्रह्मचर्य (और)
• अपरिग्रहा: - अपरिग्रह(संग्रह का अभाव) -
• यमाः - (ये पाँच) यम हैं ।
अहिंसा, यथार्थ ज्ञान, अस्तेय(चाेरी का अभाव), ब्रह्मचर्य और अपरिग्रह(संग्रह का अभाव) - ये पाँच यम हैं ।
