Even the episodes on topics I was very interested in, I skipped through most of (or quit all together) as the hosts spend half of the time making jokes and talking about things unrelated to the issue.

As a philosophy student, I was pondering John Locke's 2nd treatise and I told my professor we are looking at this all wrong, Locke is doing a thought experiment. I thought to myself we got it all wrong! The next day I come across this podcast! Thank you so much! One of the better podcast I...Read full review »

They take interesting and difficult topics and break them down in digestible and entertaining podcasts. I will unfortunately binge listen to this podcast and be done too soon.

Just heard one episode about Kuhn because I wanted a framework for reading a text by him that we had been assigned, and was really positively surprised for the reasons given in the headline :)

Really awesome podcast. Get it now, and help on the campaign to bring them back.

This podcast is amazing! A great mix of comedy and philosophy. I not only enjoy listening to this podcast for the host's wits and creativity, but also for making learning philosophy that much more fun. I hope you guys will find the time to come back and start producing episodes again, your...Read full review »

So sad to hear they’re on an indefinite hiatus… I very much enjoy every episode, and like others have stated, I think the format and balance of the show are perfect. They always display a keen understanding of source material, but manage to keep the attitude lighthearted and the content...Read full review »

I have been hooked on this podcast since I stumbled across it by searching "thought experiments" in my podcast app. I have truly enjoyed the format and subject matter. My only concern is that the last episode was back in November 2015... I truly hope they are just taking a break so I can continue...Read full review »

I'm reviewing this kind of expecting that if I do, the guys will stop telling me to review it on the show but as I'm writing this review I'm realizing that this is not the case. However, while I'm here already, I might as well.

This is the only podcast I look forward to. Understandably podcasts are a huge commitment and it's free, so I'm not complaining... But I miss listening on Monday mornings.

Love this podcast! So much positive fun energy and jam packed of thought provoking conversations! If you want to feel a bit smarter and a lot more naughty than this is the podcast for you!

As a recent philosophy PhD looking for non-traditional discussions of philosophy, I really wanted to like this podcast. Unfortunately, every episode I have listened to so far (and I made it through five before I couldn't take any more) has contained basic factual errors that someone with no more...Read full review »

I’ve been looking for a philosophy podcast that goes deeply into a single subject without getting too heady or theoretical. This podcast strikes a great balance between intellectual explorations and much needed levity.

I really like this podcast. The hosts are funny and informative. If you have sometime give it a listen.

The funniest podcast I subscribe to, bar none. Sometimes you learn stuff about philosophy but most of the time it's a lot of witty banter about history and pop culture. I laugh out loud during every episode. These guys are the funniest people on iTunes. p.s. Mark Sanders will you marry me?

This is one of my new favourites! Although I listen to podcasts and audiobooks throughout the day, I love falling asleep while listening to articulate people talking about interesting things. I have found that this podcast is much better listened to during the day because it is too good to fall...Read full review »

Really great at condensing complex topics and arguments into digestible material. They also usually do a good job of defending/attacking arguments regardless of their stance towards them.

Funny, smart, less smug than the also awesome Very Bad Wizards. At least they’re not always talking about how stupid their students are.

Very entertaining from the beginning - a great mix of philosophy and entertainment. As someone who did not study philosophy much before, they do a great job of exploring concepts while also giving an intro for novices

I don't think philosophical topics are boring, but lectures on them can get a little snooze-inducing. The answer? This podcast. It doesn't give you facts, it encourages you to think. Plus, the guys on the show are funny and smart, even if they can't pronounce "emeritus."
xjonnybx via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 09/15/15
I enjoy this podcast because it has a group discussing philosophy who bring up different viewpoints. My only criticism is there is too much joking around and though they can be very amusing, I wish they would limit it.
Pho. Bolo. H. via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 09/12/15
Very informative, well put together, good sound quality. Their voices are nice and relaxing to listen to, and they make philosophy accessible.

Funny & smart. Would be 5-stars if they'd clean up the language. If you like to hear frivolous use of the "F" bomb, this is the podcast you're looking for. . . . Update--apparently they cleaned up the language after episode 11. I give them 5 stars. Way to listen to your fans, guys.

I enjoyed the first couple of podcasts, but then I started to be very off-put by attitudes that I found condescending and patronizing toward certain ideas. I dig this podcast. For whatever reason that I cannot explain, it’s just interesting to listen to people muse on about philosophy without sounding like pompous jerks.

Only four shows in but I’ve already learned more about philosophy in that short time than in the collective 40+ years prior. Looking forward to more. Hoping they break the prime directive regarding sci-fi references at least everyone once in a while.

This show is so great, Ive been bingeing it for the past few days at work. Equal parts humor and thoughtfulness - but the sum of the show is greater than the parts. Very entertaining. Intermediate philosophy discussed by likable guys who are engaged by what they're discussing.

I used to love reading the 'philosophy in terms you can understand' books in college. "The Simpsons and Philosophy; The D'oh! I listened to the podcast with the family in the car during our holiday trip.
