“I have listened to this podcast on and off over the last 18 months. I started off dabbling between episodes while I was prepping and recovering from my first and second bodybuilding preps. I struggled with my recovery post bodybuilding (went into hypothyroid, progesterone and testosterone crashed, didn’t get my mental cycle for 18 months and I battled with a poor relationship with food for 2+ years).
As a Fitness and Nutrition Coach myself I dove into as much evidence based education I could find to help heal me. And so of course Layne, Helms, Aragon, McDonald, Dr Joe and Wilson made the top of my list. I’m happy to say I was able to get off all medications (2 thyroid, 1 testosterone and 1 progesterone) after 6 months and was able to get my cycle back on a 27-28 rotation!
3 months ago I started focusing on Powerlifting as a way to program my workouts around something other than trying to manage my scale weight and I’m in love.
Long back story, I know..but I want to say THANK YOU to this podcast and the content that it delivers. I absolutely love the chill, easy to listen to and positive outlook on the development of an athlete with the applicable explanation of the science. I’m not skilled in reading research articles, and don’t have a big interest in spending time learning how to - I love having blinding faith in guys like Eric Helms to do that for me and allow me to use my critical thinking and real life application with myself and clients to depict what will/won’t work for us.
Possibly the longest review ever, but want you all to know that you are incredibly awesome and love what you do for the community of athletic development!🤓”
