Amazing incite into how Robert’s SCOTUS has spirited us along to the precipice of democratic disaster we now face in this country. Some great chemistry from hilarious hosts as well, so you can laugh while drowning in despair from truth bombs. Highly recommend.

Please hit the mute button when you laugh. Superb otherwise.

never change giggle squad. Will say the episodes about actual cases are better in my opinion

I listen to a lot of legal analysis but nothing captures the very deserved disdain of the current court.

I don't care what any of these hater reviews say, this is a GREAT podcast. wish i could give it 7 out of 5 stars. this pod has everything: critical legal analysis, historical context, wit, empathy for those perpetually fcked by law, AND RHI'S LAUGH!! there is so little to enjoy in this...Read full review »

Hope it’s not my sense of humor that’s lacking, but the incessant giggles and cackles and f-bombs are irritating. Some good info and definitely insight into leftist perspectives and animus. Cheers, Miss Openminded

5-4 makes me smarter than I really am. It’s also hilarious and irreverent. I wish there were more episodes each week.

These hosts are unbearably obnoxious and pretentious. Their incessant and inane forced laughter is incredibly irritating. Honestly the worst podcast I've ever heard.Read full review »

To improve this podcast, cool it with the violence 'jokes' involving blatant winks at fantasies about shooting or otherwise killing SCOTUS justices, stalking and doing JFC knows what to their children, etc. These invitations to violent ideation aren't funny in any context, least of...Read full review »

How is this enjoyable to even make? “[coney Barrett] will be the first to ask for the Senate Judiciary manager” {historical laughs}. This is boomer garbage. Sad!

Unfortunately, there are reviews on here that unfairly criticize this show. Those reviews are written by ignoramuses who do not want to acknowledge the supreme court for the harmful institution that it is and do not appreciate a firm grasp of the courts and the way in which they truly work. Loved it when it was about law but now it’s just become a political podcast..... what a shame was so good

Super funny & interesting. Top-shelf infotainment. For some reason every podcast from Westwood One is C-list reactionary shock-jocks (e.g. Dan Bongino, Michael Savage, the Walsh guy, etc.) except 5-4, which is three very nice leftist/liberal lawyers talking about how their profession could be...Read full review »

This show is written, and narrated by very bias, very foolish people.

Can you please make an special episode that’s just Rhiannon laughing for an hour? It would also make a great ringtone. Pack the court with 5-4 hosts—Leon can be included to make sure it’s an odd number of justices.

Listening to liberals complain is so entertaining. I love this podcast—not because I agree with them, because I don’t—but because it’s so entertaining to listen to liberals whine and complain about how they are not in control of government. These guys are so bitter and have so much content for...Read full review »

Not trying to trash RadioLab’s “More Perfect”, but this is the podcast to listen to if you want a new case each week (obviously with some special episodes sprinkled in). Though listeners of this may enjoy some episodes of More Perfect. I recommend the “One Nation, Under Money” episode, one of the...Read full review »

I’m a civil public defender and got hooked on the episode on Bennis v. Michigan discussing police propert seizure and civil forfeiture (aka theft). The trio are smart, funny, and keep me laughing instead of crying. And I don’t understand what all the fuss is in the comments about the hosts...Read full review »

The content is great. The laughing is annoying. Don’t know if it’s the pitch or what. When the female host talked so knowledgeabley about one subject I was impressed. Up until then, I thought she was there just to be silly.

Inflammatory episode titles go well with the lack of research and thought behind the discussions.

Not a fan of how they handled listener questions. The first question was from a law student asking if school was worth it. The hosts couldn’t get through the listener’s voicemail without laughing. I get that the purpose of the pod is to lambast SCOTUS, but there’s no need to turn the ridicule on...Read full review »

This is the only political podcast I actually enjoy listening to in this hellworld we're currently in. The gang's sardonic gallows humor is exactly my style, and I like how they're able to convey outrage without being preachy about it. I think all 3 narrators are excellent - the content is clever and intelligent, and i don't even mind the expletives that much - but i think the out loud laugher distracts from the seriousness and professionalism of the content . And frankly i am sure they would agree - all of this is more...Read full review »

great show minus two concerns. first, i worry the hosts aren’t having fun with it. i think the show could be rly improved if it were just an hour of laughter, especially from rhi. second, the law boy starts almost every sentence off with “look.” normally not an issue, but i worry that he might...Read full review »

The people who complain about the “excessive laughter” are being hyperbolic. If you went through each episode and tallied it up the laughter would take up 2 minutes at most. By podcast standards, they’re pretty tight and efficient. The value of this podcast comes from their concise descriptions...Read full review »

I am burning through all these episodes! They are fantastic! But, please Rhi, turn away from the mic when you laugh. It’s too much. You also echo the guys’ laughter obsequiously.

I love the podcast and its content, but there’s too much noise. Laughing, talking, breathing. You know, the normal things people do when having a conversation. It’s exhausting. Perfect mix between intellectual discussion and humor. The hosts are all a wealth of information and able to crack jokes about dark subjects, while not diminishing the seriousness of the topic.

I like when the hosts talk about the law, but sometimes the banter is too much. I get that they’re friends and having fun with it, but I honestly just wish they would specifically focus on the cases.
