I want to 5/5 this podcast but it's hard for the hosts to separate their personal opinions from factual information of the cases. Once the legal talk starts, it's great and very insightful. But the heavy bias and clear partisan positions from which the cases are discussed, it's hard...Read full review »

This podcast is helmed by three articulate legal experts who present Supreme Court decisions in a manner that explores how many decisions by the court have resulted in the loss of rights for many. Their approach is humanitarian which something that seems to be lost in many discussions of law.

Hands down one of the best, funniest, darkest podcasts out there.

I can only listen to one episode at a time because the subject matter, and outcomes, can be quite heavy. But in general I adore this podcast, the hosts, and that they read these sometimes shockingly poorly written opinions so I don’t have to.

Rhiannon, Mike, and Peter host an eloquent and well paced show that manages to be engaging enough for actual lawyers but also spells out terminology and legal concepts for the rest of us. Fantastic pod, 5/4 stars.

Down with the Supreme Court! The Court is rotten to the core and let’s discard it with the garbage as it deserves. -Enemy of the Court

These three are amazing. They expertly, hilariously, and righteously tackle the court and the institution of law itself, exposing its foundational issues and the effects it has on our lives. To the people writing negative reviews about their bias and the lack of “serious legal review,” you are...Read full review »

Listening to 5-4 has become a personal act of validation for me as a disillusioned lawyer. Brianna, Mike and Peter do an outstanding job peering thru the decontextualized “lawyer-brain” veneer of conservative legal jargon at the ugly history of the Supreme Court as an activist reactionary...Read full review »

This podcast is extremely biased. They only talk about the rights of the people and the promises made by the constitution. They don’t consider the needs of the ultra rich and making the police’s job of harassing people easier. Should talk more about why the justices actually do understand the...Read full review »

I stumbled upon this podcast looking for a good breakdown of Supreme Court decisions. This was not it. They don’t grasp the arguments or the decisions. But they do have lots of feelings.

I was listening to Nestle v. Doe and a cheery Walmart add played during the add break. What can you do but laugh? This show is great.

These three are so funny and bring levity to a judicial system that is becoming increasingly anti-democratic. I wish I was friends with them in real life. Love the work y’all do so much!!!!! —Caroline, from the authoritarian, theocratic hellscape that is the great state of Texas

Started listening to get background on certain court decisions. Failed in this aspect. No comprehensive background on the cases. Very partisan and biased micro analysis before degrading into vulgar riffing on the opposing view. I was not dismayed by the fact that the pod was clearly biased but by...Read full review »

As a law student who is constantly let down by a curriculum entirely devoid of criticism of the law— this podcast is quite literally the only thing keeping me going!

I can’t listen to too many episodes in a row because it makes me depressed. I was really dismayed by the Puerto Rican SSI story and all the ones about police. The reviews complaining that the analysis and commentary don’t consider “opposing viewpoints” are funny. Do you think supreme court...Read full review »

This show is interesting but really could’ve been a lot better. It’s made by people who obviously care a lot about the issues they’re discussing and have a lot of passion. Still, it’s completely biased and heavily one-sided. There’s literally zero attempt to see any issue from any other...Read full review »

This podcast lacks research on what the basis and background of many cases actually are. It makes it tough to know what is true and what is their conjecture. There is very little nuance and many of their arguments and statements do not stand up to gentle questioning or research

I really wanted to like this podcast but y’all are annoying. It’s funny to you that jurors were wasted? Bleak. Our justice system is a joke to begin with, hoping for a fair trial is a pipe dream at this point. Any jackass can host a podcast these days.

Great podcast makes my day every time there’s a new episode. Rhiannon’s laugh is a treasure. The negative reviewers seem to be very right-leaning or pro legal system. Maybe they can consider the benefits of legal reform even if they don’t agree with everything.

This is by far the funniest legal podcast I’ve heard. It’s nice that they don’t follow the weekly news cycle and instead they cover cases with relevant cultural topics. They also don’t pull their punches if they see liberals coming up short.
