As the podcast has evolved since Omri had to leave it has only become more and more fascinating. Gil is presenting scholarly work that I wish that academic researchers would pay attention to. He is showing compelling evidence that in the Hebrew Bible, the histories are complemented and completed...Read full review »

The perspective of two Hebrew speakers reading the Bible in its original language is extremely valuable and eye opening. I greatly enjoyed understanding the story of Joseph and its connection with the book of Jeremiah and his scribe Baruch ben Neriat.

Intelligent, innovative and entertaining! Gil Kidron takes us on a journey to discover who, like really who, wrote the Bible, in particular the Old Testament. Read the stories with fresh eyes, this time without glossing over the details, inconsistencies and contradictions to discover whose voice...Read full review »

I have learned a lot from this podcast! I love Gil’s humor and his emphasis on Biblical writers and the storyteller’s craft. His examination of genre is very informative - for example, could the story of Samson be read as a satire? I also love the Hebrew language perspective - hearing certain...Read full review »

My whole nerdy atheist life I have longed for a native Hebrew speaker to translate every detail of Bible from the original language into today’s English. That’s what these guys do, hilariously. They describe the mistranslations in the King James and other English versions and explain contextual...Read full review »

A longtime follower of Gil (Hi, Gil!), I completely enjoy the way he and Omri break down the biblical stories and explain the original Hebrew vs the translations. That is something I have considered over my entire life and it is wonderful to have that fulfilled. The “Meanwhile, back in ****” add...Read full review »

Omri and Gil have created a treasure of a podcast! In particular, their comparison of the King James version of the bible to the Hebrew texts is EYE-OPENING! And, their humor is DIVINE!

Gil and Omri do an awesome job with the original text and narrative perspective! 5 stars!! As an English speaker, there is so much that I missed from regular Sunday school. Only question, which one is Mario? And which one is Luigi?

Seriously guys. I binged the whole thing in a few days. Cracked up the whole time. I’d listen to you guys talk about dirt. what a great take on this topic. Don’t limit yourselves, broaden it out to historical philosophy in general. Great job! Can’t wait to see your success.

I love Gil and Omri bring a fresh perspective to the Bible. Neither are religious per se, but they read the story and comment on key passages. They also compare and contrast the text in Hebrew vs the King James version. They don’t focus on religion or attack it. They look at as literature and its...Read full review »

Excellent so far. Interesting and entertaining analysis of the bible from a secular perspective. Touches on geography, history, and linguistics. The notes on Hebrew to English translations and word choices are really interesting. Looking forward to hearing more.
