Like Chiro for your Mind
Let's start with the basics. Align Podcast is an interview show about health. Each week the host Aaron — whose background includes Rolfing, nutrition and therapeutic exercise — chats with various experts in health and wellness. You'll find a great variety of topics covered over the spectrum of movement, physiology, functional medicine and nutrition. And that's all good an interesting information. But what makes Align Podcast worth your while is the underlying perspective that animates each chat. The ties which link that information together. It's a perspective that sees wellness as an integrated whole. From the basic alignment of your bones, fascia and muscles which lets you move, to the alignment of your food to your health and energy to the alignment of your values with your lifestyle and so on. No piece is separate. The hunched posture you get from hammering at a computer on a desk all day isn't separate from the processed garbage you're too sad and tired to avoid eating is not separate from the ache in your heart from feeling that you're living only half a life, meaninglessly toiling in a cubicle while your higher purposes go unfulfilled. The beautiful message of the show is that because everything is one whole, you can begin your healing journey by nudging any part. Finding a meaningful purpose is an overwhelming task. Moving your body to breathe some life into tense, gummed up tissues is a tractable task and can start the process of opening up all the stuck aspects of your self. See, your human life is an embodied life. Many people take certain perspectives derived from scientific positivism or religious asceticism to treat their bodies purely as instruments, necessary evils to carry the mind and soul through the world. The message of Align Podcast is that this separation is a delusion; true living entails healthy alignment between all levels of your existence, from you as a community of cells all the way up to you as an incarnation of the creative force of the universe. You may be amazed what soaking in that perspective for an hour a week will do for you.Read full review »

Early episodes raised the bar on fitness & nutrition podcasts - very professional, entertaining, and above all educational on so many levels. But the quality of guests has declined in recent months with more and more appearances by individuals presenting information that skeptics will find...Read full review »

The information provided by Aaron Alexander is very good and helpful- please, please, please learn to speak like an adult man, Mr. Alexander. The silly introductions and ridiculous word play and silly voices just takes away from the content and causes me to want to skip this podcast.
