“The intro to episode 1 was a bit long— she could do short mini intros to each section of the episode after each commercial instead of front loading the episode w a too long intro.
Once there’s the back and forth of sharing by both Jen and the guest, the alternating voices of two different people keep me actively listening. Conan’s podcast is mostly nonsense and entertainingly delivered ads, but because there’s always 2-4 people talking, I am actively listening to the nonsense.
I hope Jen incorporates more of her comedic voice (bc that is her superpower that makes us want to listen to what she’s trying to tell us), that the intro to future episodes are shorter, and that she interjects a bit more rather then politely letting the guest go long from one point to the next as she just validates with mhmms, yeahs, hms, etc.
SOME popular podcasts perpetuate irksome, cynical, harmful attitudes (cough*JRE*cough), but Jen so necessarily & refreshingly makes this podcast one that aims to have an actual positive impact and to yield growth in and evolution of the listeners’ minds.”
