We all did it!
This podcast was incredibly entertaining and intriguing to listen to. It’s an excellent fictional take on the true crime genre in so many ways. The two hosts were great foils for each other that began as 2d stereotypes and gradually developed into fully fledged complex individuals with their own flaws and morals as they grapple with the consequences of the investigation they’ve started. The ending was a punch in the gut in the best possible way. The nature of fictional true crime is that the crime you’re focused on can have a solution, a “whodunnit” reveal unlike the messy loose ends of real life. But here they didn’t just solve the crime and find their answers; they discovered that the truth can be dangerous and that at some point you need to be brave enough to walk away.

Loving this show—two queer lady hosts, a dash of mystery, some Serial-like twists, and a mysterious billionaire patron, plus all the alien and Bigfoot speculation a lighter-hearted guy or gal could want.

Bea and Brenda’s relationship with each other keeps the investigation interesting and the absurd Mr. Wheyface adds great levity. I wasn’t expecting to enjoy this so much, but I was drawn in by the story behind the story.
