Am I black enough?
All my life I felt I am not “black enough” I’ve grown up in a white family, if I was a white women my only minority would be a woman because I am so privileged in how I’ve grown up and how I live now. The last few years I have had to check myself I used to say “no one is ever racist to me”- I had rose coloured blinders on, I’m wasn’t black enough. I’ve discovered balanced this year- its was my Instagram is about- so when Les started this podcast I was so excited. Listening I realise that I AM black enough. I am the only black girl in a mindful class, I am the only black girl in my school, I am the first black girl that people meet in there lives!! This podcast makes me feel heard, and it makes me feel that I am a part of a big black family with people all over the world so thank you Les. Thank you.
