I love Michael and the team’s YouTube channel. It’s better than film school. As is this podcast. I highly recommend it to anybody who loves movies and wants to learn to write.

You can tell how much everyone in this podcast loves films and it is a joy to listen and learn more about cinema with them

Never used to listen to film podcasts until now. I’ve been listening to BTS for almost a year now and it had been a wonderful experience. I always look forward to the weekly episodes and Brian’s impressions and needless to say that I’m never disappointed. I selfishly hope this podcast continues...Read full review »

I was merrily driving upstate in Rio de Janeiro, listening to the West Side Story episode when I had to stop—I repeat, I had to stop—to barf after listening that the code-switching dialogue was melodic LIKE AARON SORKIN’s. Luckily I was driving by an eucalyptus farm. I took a gulp of that fresh...Read full review »

Absolute favourite podcast that I have recommended to countless friends and family. This show allows me to feed into my film obsessions, and explore those analytic thought we all have when experiencing cinema. Thank you to Micheal, Trisha, Alex and Brian for being my commuting companions and...Read full review »

By far my favorite movie podcast. You can expect a really unique perspective from each of the hosts. Also, no one says "hm hmmmm" like Trish!Read full review »

I know them since the beginning of lessons of the screenplay and they always make quality content. This podcast is absolutely marvelous. They confirm even more my love for the world of cinema. I recommend this gem 100%.

I love Lessons from the Screenplay, and this podcast is equally well made. So many great insights. I appreciate the different perspectives. A couple tiny things: Please turn down Tricia’s mic, I have to ride the volume while listening. Tricia, you have so many great things to say but, please stop...Read full review »

It is a genuine joy to listen to these four people discuss classic and new movies with the obvious erudition of people educated in cinema and, at the same time, the pure passion of movie-lovers. They have been teaching me, as I listen, how to talk about movies – and vicariously offering me the...Read full review »

I listen to lots of film podcast and this one is a beautiful kaleidoscopic of movie nerds. They are all very well spoken and know how to argue constructively. One overlooked thing about podcasts is the listenability. When you have a show that includes multiple people speaking, it can be hard to...Read full review »

I love this podcast, great work, you lear a lot from it and they're entertaining! I've found them through their main youtube channel, which I also love. It's great that they can do it in this format, since they're able to talk about a lot of movies 🤗🤗Read full review »

Nice insights into screenwriting. A negative review here stated that the hosts provide more “opinions than facts”, and that is correct — but it is also a feature, not a bug. Insightful opinions are what i expect here, and it is what I get.

If you love deep diving into movies (and/or films), this podcast is a fabulous resource. I love screenplays so this satisfies my inner-nerd, while also giving great recommendations for other stuff to watch. Love it a whole lot. Wish I could be friends with this gang IRL 🧡

The search is over. I’ve finally found the movie podcast that does what I’ve always wanted a movie podcast to do and then some. 5 stars!!!

This podcast provides so much more than just a cursory appraisal of film/movies. Besides having a very diverse group of experience, the episodes have a lot of thought provoking dialogue that is sorely lacking from others of its ilk. Not a simple review but more of an in depth discussion of how...Read full review »

Tricia does not have a cadence appropriate for radio or podcasts. Her energy level is at an 11 compared to everyone else’s relative tranquility. Some advice: listen to a few hours of Radiolab and try to emulate a soft, calm style of speaking. The shrillness is like daggers in my ears.

I keep up with Beyond the screenplay on Spotify and I came over here specially to write this. You guys ROCK! Hahah. I love the pod as much as your main channel, Lessons from the screenplay. I wish the team would stay more laser-focused on the actual writing: some episodes of the podcast barely cover the script. Listening to the pod was a natural progression from the YouTube videos unfortunately as you’re bombarded by one of the hosts shouting constantly like a 7 year old on a sugar rush. As a film buff, this is a very fun podcast. I wasn’t sure if I could listen to a whole hour podcast on one film, and I was (gladly) proven wrong. Perfect podcast to listen to while running errands. Tricia your voice is a little too high pitched for me, so sometimes it’s a bit uncomfortable, but man do you make such good points! You go girl. Not gonna lie I’m not 100% sure that’s how you spell your name though.

The boys are way too prissy and subjective. Tricia clearly loves/comprehends the subject matters.

First 4 minutes of episode 1 are as follows. This is a film by Edgar Wright. I didn’t see it until yesterday. I’ve never seen any of his other movies. If you are into the “lessons from the screenplay” youtube channel or into any movie discussion content, this podcast is for you. Michael, Tricia, Brian, and Alex have a lot of chemistry and you feel part of their conversation, even if you only are there as a listener. -greetings from Mexico.

Terrible podcast. They think they know a lot but merely look like a bunch of arrogant students. They don’t do research or show something beyond their own opinions. The YouTube channel is great, this podcast not so much.
