Finally, for me…the rest of the story! Bravo!
I had the pleasure of crossing paths with Laurie Stern and her son Diego in 2014 almost 8 years ago to the day I had started listening to this podcast. We met in Guatemala and I remember Laurie carrying her recording equipment. She was working on a story. This story! Defining Diego. We are both mothers by adoption, both drawn to our children’s birth country and both in search of the story…the rest of the story, the true story, especially as it pertains to our children, our families. We both also respect the journeys of our children (all now adults) and their voices. Laurie and Diego, thank you for sharing your stories! Diego, you have painfully and beautifully defined yourself. Bravo young man! Laurie, thank you for keeping it real. Your honesty as a mother by adoption is important. I highly recommend this podcast. For those who don’t “get it”, at least listen. It’s not your journey but what an incredible glimpse we have all been given into an adoption triad experience!
