It’s good to learn about uncomfortable topics!!
I’m in love with this podcast. As someone who will have to use sperm donation to conceive, I’ve slowly been questioning and trying to research exactly the topics in this podcast. For anyone who is says this podcast is downplaying the struggles of infertility, I encourage you to look broader. It does not claim even once that fertility care is not important. However, it does delve into uncomfortable questions of how ethical the industry is at large. I feel grateful to have access to the experiences of now adults who were donor conceived. It is my responsibility to consider the future world my children will navigate due to my choice to use donation. The parents represented in this podcast did not have the tools or knowledge to make those decisions. Fortunately, we can use their experiences and the experiences of donor conceived people to make informed decisions of where and how we get fertility care. The podcast is not saying fertility care is bad. Rather, it highlights the need for a better developed industry so that everyone involved can receive ethical care.

As an adoptive mom of a Guatemalan son, I really value this podcast. Laura and Diego did an extraordinary job documenting their journey, delving into the Guatemalan adoption industry, and highlighting the struggles of identity formation for the international adoptee. Very well done.
