The best
There are too many good things to say about this podcast, and two few stars to give it the rating it deserves. Two unbelievably hard-working journalists have put together an incredible account of an appallingly cynical scam (actually, an ongoing parade of scams, each one outdoing the last for sheer cheesiness or idiocy or evil). The presentation style is completely engaging; the music is wonderful; The documentary clips are so artfully and powerfully selected; and the best part is that all of it is firmly cemented in actual documented fact. The authors made clear that they have a perspective on all of this; it is not intended to be an “impartial” treatment, but to be presented with these facts in this way and not to have a perspective would require taking leave of relying on facts altogether. I live for each week’s episode. You should too.

I was a kid during the Iraq War and grew up in a conservative area so this was so eye-opening to me to finally put the pieces together of what happened and why. Really wish more history podcasts had this kind of perspective, rather than give politicians weirdly unearned reverence.

This show is great at presenting the whole story of the U.S. invasion of Iraq, finally giving context to things I'd always wondered about. It's funny and moves pretty fast, so you'll be entertained as you learn about this Saddam guy.Read full review »
