Good, when it's not annoying
These guys are writing professors and aspiring writers who have smart conversations about books. I find the one guy who always ends his sentences with a question mark to be kind of annoying. He'll be like "So, maybe, the problem is that I speak with a false sense of modesty? And so, like, maybe I don't really mean it? I don't know." But then he'll talk over the other guy, and not really pay attention to what he says, so I'm not buying the humble tone he's going for. Also, their "blurbs" section is annoying and WAY too long, and it's hard to skip over them to get to where the book discussion resumes. But generally I'm a fan.Read full review »

With a great mix of reverence for literature and irreverence for everything else, the hosts are serious about books without taking themselves too seriously. Every episode is full of both laughs and astute insights.

The hosts of this podcast claim to be teachers of writing. Pity the students who draw these mean girls as instructors. I couldn’t stand to listen to very many doses of this show.
