Biblical Archeology
My podcast library is full of history casts, and religion casts. Book of Kings brings my two interests together in a fascinating way. This is the cure to absurd History Channel attempts to debunk the biblical narrative, or surround it with silly conspiracies. The hosts, both of whom are attorneys, (don’t hold that against them) lay out the archeological support for the biblical narrative the way you’d expect trial lawyers to present a case. The facts of the archeological record are clearly presented, and the opposition’s weak arguments are verbally eviscerated. Unfortunately the hosts are both protestants, and this occasionally leads them astray. I recall one brief aside in which the hosts offered some literary mumbo jumbo reason for why a certain book from the catholic cannon(Tobit?), didn’t belong in the bible. These missteps however are so rare, as to not diminish the tremendous value of the work they’ve created. More please gentlemen.

I love to listen to these 2 great historians discuss the historical stories I read in the Bible in greater detail. I like the Game of Thrones-style music to open and close the episodes, too.
