Engaging even for the non-historian
I learned about this podcast through a Tumblr meme and last studied history in a high school AP class. Despite being as far as possible from the intended audience for this podcast, I still find it extremely engaging and thought provoking. Detailed episodes, like the one on Attaleiates, are a fun look at how people in the past lived their lives. Big picture episodes, like on gender analysis and the work of non-western scholars, offer fresh perspective on how those themes play out in my own field. The pod logo is also just really great. I’m really glad I stumbled across Byzantium and Friends!
