This podcast was really fun and soothing but now the host has started to do history from the “POV” of historical people and I hate to say it, but it’s kinda irritating, and takes me out of the experience. Bummer.

I stumbled upon this podcast by accident and was so taken by Harris’s voice, dry delivery, and silly humor. I’ve listen to every available episode a couple times and sometimes find myself fighting the sleep to finish listening because I’m enjoying it so much. Thanks, Harris! 💤💕

Calm history somehow holds my interest and puts me to sleep at the same time. I’ve listened to a gazillion sleep inducing podcasts. Some are good, some are just annoying. But with Calm History, I don’t feel like the aim is sleep. I feel like I’m just listening to an interesting and...Read full review »

I love the kind of emotional intelligence I hear behind every episode. It stimulates and calms my poor mind that has felt too much but doesn't know any other way to be alive!Read full review »

It’s a great way to learn about history while relaxing. Keep up the good work!

I find other sleep podcasts too fast to lull me to sleep. The pace is perfect, the narrator’s voice is deep, and the stories are just interesting enough to quiet the mind but won’t keep you up intrigued for what’s to come next

I really like this this podcast it is a very good podcast. I think that you should have episodes for every one not just the people that buy the thingy. And I also think that you should talk faster. You…..talk ….like……this. That is why I give it a 4 out of 5

Listened to my first episode last night and really enjoyed it. Looking forward to trying another episode tonight!

I really love history and this podcast helps me sleep. One critique I have is that I wish they would make some full series that are free to everyone because I fell like too many episodes are locked behind a paywall.

I wanted a podcast that would not have me looking and reading for hours just to find the first part to a series and he starts two are more at once can can’t find anything on this podcast page

Thank you so much for these truly calming Calm History stories! Even amongst such a plethora, and I mean plethora of bedtime stories and soothing sleep meditation music podcasts available, I find sometimes this is the only podcast which can really calm me down and distract me from my racing...Read full review »

This is a sleep podcast. It’s not one that you’d listen to while exercising or engaging in heavy gym activities or driving. It’s a calm and soothing ride, as the title of the show states. It’s fun and I rarely make it to the end of an episode because I’m usually asleep. My only complaint is I...Read full review »

The creator and or narrator gives a great history lesson and in a sleepy narrative. The pacing is perfect.
GeeEL91 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 09/03/23
The history lessons are interesting enough to keep my attention but delivered so calmly, not too stimulating. My brain engages just enough allowing sleep to happen.
maxmill007 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 09/03/23
I’m so sorry but you’re voice is not calming and it’s so raspy fr u sounds like a raspy balloon 🎈 😭😳🤧🫤 but other than that I love the history facts❤️🫣😤

Love this podcast, it’s now my go to listen to fall asleep to. The narrator has such a calm & soothing voice, I find it instantly relaxing. Always asleep before an episode finishes.

Business model is bad. Not sure if I want to sub yet, would need more episodes to make a decision.

I love this series. What a brilliant way to relax - while learning something new. The trouble is I keep falling asleep before the end of the episodes so have to listen time and again :)

I love the subjects and style of your delivery but the popping/snapping of your consonants into your microphone is very distracting.

Just found this podcast and I really enjoy it. It keeps me engaged enough to stop my thoughts from wandering but not so engaged that it keeps me awake wondering what will happen next. Harris has a nice calming voice.

Wow. “ she is named Joan of Arc because it’s believed her fathers name was D’Arc. It survived to be known today as Joan OF Arc.”🤦🏼‍♀️ No, dude. “De” in French is “of” in English So in France TODAY she would be called Jeanne D’Arc., which LITERALLY translates to Joan of Arc in English. Awful voice- had to switch off! The narrator sounds like he is simple- very annoying and slow

I love history podcasts but unfortunately with most of them they’re rarely calming with their loud theme music and annoying banter between the hosts. This is perfect.
GeordieRoger via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 07/23/22
I can’t just fall asleep to anything - I need some sort of narrative or lecture like structure and this fits the bill perfectly. It’s interesting but also so relaxing and helpful to de stress and drift off. Love this. Great idea - I’m a fan!
RobertGS123 via Apple Podcasts · Canada · 06/06/22
Just what I’ve been searching for: a relaxing voice with interesting historical information, no clanging music, no interviews with people with grating voices, and hopefully no advertisements.

Great podcast! Where current history conveys such atrocities and struggle, this is an view of history that “connects historical dots” in pleasing, surprising ways. For example, try the “Rubber” episode!
CMHobgood via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 05/15/22
Very calming and at the same time very interesting. Pleas make many more episodes of this.
