Amy needs to slow down! She talks (or reads) her cases way too fast.

In the Yardley case they use “toxic masculinity” as an explanation of cause. The only thing toxic is your anti law enforcement bias, heterophobic bias, racism toward caucasians, anti straight…the usual far left lunacy.

I’m just going to say it because I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s noticed. This show features interesting cases, well researched and always interesting. But the hosts’ grammar is atrocious, especially considering as they are both college professors. Today’s episode started out with “this was...Read full review »

I’ve been listening here as a longtime fan of Women & Crime (as well as both seasons of Direct Appeal). I loved the Jane Stanford episode so much I decided to leave a review. It was excellent, and I would love even more historical cases, though I like the balance; too many old cases wouldn’t...Read full review »

Great insight on some tragedies I’m familiar with and some of which I have never heard. Thanks for the excellent content!

I really like the show overall, in particular they tackle legal issues pretty well. As a lawyer, former law clerk in criminal courts & general legal expert, I always hope true crime podcasts either don't talk about legal details or procedure at all or have someone to consult. This show...Read full review »

I love the doctors and enjoy their other podcasts. I pay for the premium subscription for Women & Crime because of the polish of that show. This show has weird repeats, long pauses, and other glitches that make a premium subscription hard to justify. I think Abjack does a disservice to good...Read full review »

I love these hosts and their women and crime podcast! Just found out about this one and dove right in, eager for a treat. But the strange, dull background music was absurdly distracting and the speech somehow difficult for me to follow. I’ve never had that issue with these hosts before so this...Read full review »

Great pod and interesting topic. Just a note Matt Damon is not a graduate of Harvard, he dropped out. :)

Decent podcast but hard to listen with all the “in”. One of the podcasters always “umm” every few words. Its distracting and public speaking 101. Ok I listened to another episode and there was an “um” every sentence. Maybe more. ITS HORRIBLE!!!!

Seems like it is getting worse. I used to be a paying listener, but the editing is so bad I couldn’t justify that anymore. Since then, it seems to have only gotten worse. It is constantly repeating, or pausing, or a million things without editing. I enjoy their storytelling but they really need...Read full review »

Let me say that I LOVE these hosts. Their podcast series about Melanie McGuire is one of the best ever and actually made me interested in podcasts. I was thrilled when they continued with “Women and Crime” and “Campus Killings.” However, although both started out great, I’m not sure what’s...Read full review »

I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to listen to this pod with the irritating background music, but I was really pleased to hear just a few episodes in that in response to listener feedback they are no longer using the background music. They also started using an ad break announcement, which...Read full review »

Unnatural scripting prevents the easy and interesting interaction that makes Amy and Meghan so great to listen to.

I love Amy and Meghan but seriously, what is this. The editing (or lack thereof) is SO painful and makes it so hard to follow. Please fix this issue. Worst than a low budget horror film.
madeline r s via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 11/18/23
Narrator is painfully reading, making no effort to make it sound natural. Second person is making comments or asking obviously prepared questions, and the narrator has prepared reactions to the questions and comments being made. Unlistenable.

I could listen to these two talk about criminology for days. I love Women and Crime and Direct Appeal. I listen to Campus Killings mainly to get my fix but this show is a bit of a miss for me. I like the way the two of them interact in the other shows, this one feels like all of that is edited...Read full review »

I have the biggest girl crush on the hosts and listen to every podcast they have out. Why does this one feel so different though? I feel like they’re not as personable/ talkative in this show. I love hearing them interact and this has so much less of that.

I was interested in the story about Lauren McCluskey, but the reading isn’t fluid and is quite difficult to sit through. I learned through the comments that there’s also a copilot with painful commentary. I wouldn’t be able to sit through that either.
Shayflakes via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 09/22/23
I still listen because I love Meghan and Amy but this show doesn’t do them justice. It seems like they barely like each other, when fans of theirs know that’s not true. But the worst thing (beside the weird ads) is the editing, most recent (Lauren McCluskey episode) is a perfect example. The ad...Read full review »

Nah
Between the narrator being very obvious about trying to make it sound less like reading from the script, and the unnecessary cohost asking planted/prepared questions and comments, I can’t do it. “Were you a soap opera person Amy?” Ummm… I agree with others on the ads, it’s just not a good...Read full review »

The stories are good but the hosts aren’t doing a great job with sharing them. It’s also poorly edited, when they repeat themselves because they didn’t read out the sentence properly, we get the repetition instead of it being edited out. There is no visible prep between the women who don’t...Read full review »

I’m really a fan of the subject of this podcast being unique to schools etc. the only criticism I can offer is the format of one narrator and a nagging copilot is not the best. I’m a big fan of Direct Appeal and a Patron of Women and Crime. I’ll take all the Meghan and Amy I can get! I have a little secret for all the reviewers here, too… fast forward through the ads!

I really enjoy these two on Women and Crime. It’s an excellent show. I highly recommend. But, I do wonder why there have to be so many True Crime spin-offs if not for the ad cash! I hate the ads as everyone has mentioned. They’re terrible. But I also hate that the banter gets cut. It’s so choppy without the back and forth of Amy and Megan.

This could be so good, because the stories are interesting, but the hosts ruin it. It’s obvious they’re reading everything and they’re not good at it. There’s no life to this podcast. A better host would make a big difference.

Great show love it just as much as Women in Crime! Reasonable fans know that ads are apart of the show, don’t like ads pay for a subscription that’s how it works!

I am a Women and Crime listener, so it seemed natural to come here and listen to this podcast as well. The insight that Meghan and Amy have on each case is amazing. There are a few tech glitches, but the show in itself is top notch. I’ll listen to anything these 2 create.

I love this podcast and women and crime BUT I absolutely cannot stand the ads read by actors and the outro voice that sounds like a fake smile…ugh! Let Amy & Megan say all that stuff, get rid of the ridiculous beach body pyramid scheme ads and this will be a 5 star show.

Love these stories. Haven’t heard of most of them so it makes a refreshing change. Dealt with respectfully and professionally. I do wonder if the hosts get along though, they’re awfully abrupt with each other. Would highly recommend.

I love the hosts but the background music takes away from the seriousness of the topics. Also ads are extremely loud and abrupt and also take away from the mood of the and seriousness of stories.
