I’ve been reading/listening to the whole series. Captain’s Share is the best one so far—I felt compelled to just keep listening. Lowell has moved past harem fantasies (I’m kidding) in favour of fully flavourful maritime language and case studies in management technique.

Love love love it. The author’s soothing voice combined with the interesting storyline make this one of my favourites.

I love his attitude, and seeing him as a Captain was wonderful!

This is a review of the series up until Captain's Share. Thus giving you a better idea on why you should perhaps invest your time in it. As opposed to just giving you impressions on the first: This is a story about NOT Captain Kirk, or Picard, or Sisco, or Archer, or...Instead, continuing the...Read full review »

The solar clipper series remains one of the very best sci-fi tales I have ever read. IMHO Nathan Lowell stands with Heinlein and Asimov as a science fiction great.

If you have yet to experience the writings of Nathan Lowell you must. There is nothing second rate about his books. Although set aside some time. You will not soon put them down.

A spellbinding series with narration that makes you feel like you're really living in the world of the future! Start with the first, Quarter Share, and you'll be hooked!

I found this one to one of the most moving and entertaining instalments of the trader tales!

I cannot tell enough people about this series. NAthan Lowell takes the Stereo typical Space Opera and says no. Instead of following Star Trek, Star Wars, Buck Roger and Flash Gordon. He follows the Nautical Storytelling tradition. It is less about fights and more about relationships.

A wonderful Space Opera. A story the likes of "From Powder Monkey to Admiral" and "Hornblower" only in the future and in the Big Black. Captains, officers, crew and sailing ships. I am listening to the series for the second time. I have NEVER EVER before been tempted to listen...Read full review »

I'm a fan, and I've listened to your audiobooks from Quarter Share on and now I'm on Owner's Share. Fantastic!!! I have to say, I'm even learning about leadership and management styles while being immensely entertained. I'm a sci-fi junky and your explanation of how the...Read full review »
