E.113 How To Be A High Performer With Lewis Moody
Listen now
Description
This week in my kitchen, I'm joined by Lewis Moody, a former England rugby player, to discuss what it takes to excel both on the pitch and in life. Lewis has had an illustrious career, representing his country, winning World Cups, and turning his passion into a lifelong pursuit. However, upon retiring from rugby, he realised he needed to find a new passion for the next chapter of his life. After transitioning from having coaches in all areas of his life to none, Lewis recognised the crucial role a coach plays. He decided to become a life coach and mentor, helping others achieve their goals. Lewis emphasises that while we might think we can succeed alone, having a coach is essential for providing feedback and guidance. During his rugby career, Lewis also battled a chronic bowel condition called Ulcerative Colitis. Despite being told he would need lifelong medication, Lewis turned to the power of food. By completely overhauling his diet, he managed to heal his gut and eliminate his reliance on medication. Today, he lives symptom-free, thanks to his dietary changes. In addition, Lewis founded the Lewis Moody Foundation, which raises money for those affected by brain tumours. In this episode, we discuss the importance of brain health and highlight how brain cancer, despite its prevalence, receives the least amount of cancer funding. This episode is packed with insights on achieving high performance in both sports and life.
