Was looking forward to this but was disappointed, soundscapes are hardwork dropping from low to high , nice idea but the levels hurt when it hits the high notes not one for headphones . As for the story too much teenage anx for me 🤣 and a lot of repetition.

This podcast was very well done. I couldn’t stop listening! I wasn’t aware that this was a remake of the 1977 children’s series. Will need to watch the original next!

Good podcast. Great voice acting

Good story if you can find it - lots of disjointed scenes, music/sound effect interludes that go on too long. Needs to be tightened up for a listening audience.

I thought the voice actors did wonderful but the story was lacking. It was a cool plot but it there was to much… can’t think of the word… noise? Lots of moments when you don’t know what is going on because it was poorly set up or poorly connected after the fact.

An excellent and very binge worthy audio adaptation of the 70’s TV show. Reece Shearsmith is gloriously unhinged as the character Hendricks. Can’t quite fathom why this isn’t more highly rated, unless it’s simply a matter of a few disgruntled purists who disliked the changes to the original...Read full review »

Good story but with the normal level sounds and dialogue followed by intense loud noise of deep bass and strident echos, you won’t have time to adjust the volume. Listen without being plugged in.

Somewhat remained disengaged in story arc but quality production.

Fun
This was excellent with great audio FX. The story was new to me as well and enjoyed that side of it too.

Not sure what other people are are On about, there is only the weird scraping noise at the end and beginning of an episode. I actually enjoy it and find it relaxing as I listen to at night. Listened to it a few times now and still enjoy.

Just the right mix of creepy and slow-burn for me. Happy Day!

Another fantastic example of Bafflegab Productions AudioDrama work. I enjoyed every moment & was scared quite a few too. Cant wait for the next project.

After Shadow over Insmouth I was looking for something similar and the post show ads seemed to be pushing this. Given the intrusive noise and the the whole tension between dad and kid over dead mum who was apparently “psychic” seems to have been written by teenagers too. I won’t listen any more...Read full review »

I agree with Maisy, it’s a good story but the loud rumbling, scraping and screaming makes it difficult to follow the dialogue.

It bears A LOT of similarities to Unwell. Not sure if both stories are connected, but the storyline reminds me a lot of Unwell. —AND— they have the same weird ambient spooky music!!! However Children of the Stones starts off a little confusing. It didn’t start to make ense until episode...Read full review »

The acting and audio quality are really incredible. At this point, I don’t expect anything less from BBC Radio 4. However, I felt the story was a bit thin. There were so many side characters that I didn’t get to know enough to connect with them.

Sound design was good but not enough to make it a good podcast. I found it too simple and acting was too cliche too. Final score: “Meh”

Background: I’m 42 years old male nerd. I was expecting mystery / thriller based on ads I heard on other podcasts. To me the protagonist seems like angsty and moody teenager. Younger listeners may find protagonist more relatable. + interesting subject + good production quality + acting is good...Read full review »

I’ve never seen the original tv drama but I loved this radio play adaptation. Brilliantly creepy.

This looked very promising, but the wildly varying sound levels make it almost impossible to listen to on a set of speakers - clearly intended only for headphones!

I gave up half way through the podcast. I’m afraid to me it seemed to be a poor mans ‘Wicker Man’, I’m sure some will enjoy it though.

Way too much of trying to blur things

Too much emphasis on the noises of the stones...and deviation from the original...but I am of the age group to clearly remember the 1977 TV original and its creepy characters!
