I only read a bit of chinese literature, but i’m very eager to listen to the relevant episodes of anything i do read. The hosts provide excellent analysis from both Chinese and Global literary perspectives. Thank you for helping me appreciate these great works even more!

Love the Kong Yi Ji lyrics episode and the Cui Jian one. Would you mind considering talking about some of Luo Da You’s (罗大佑) works? Many of his lyrics are very poetic. Thank you!

Glad I found this podast, and really like it. Good to see these works being discussed as literature - not just as historyical, works in English. Lots of ideas for further reading. Thanks.

Thank you for putting on such a brilliant show. It’s light hearted, succinct, and intelligent. What I admire the most from the show is that you are both eloquent and witty. You made literature so interesting and motivating. I’m a scholar myself and making my own show, which can’t be compared with...Read full review »

Easily one of the best cultural podcasts out there- makes literature that many people might find difficult to approach easy and fun to learn about.

Very interesting, informative and entertaining discussions on a wide variety of genre from ancient classics to modern Chinese literature. As far as I know this is probably the only English podcast on the subject. Thank you for doing this!

I haven’t read any Chinese literature in my life outside of small short stories and tales from childhood. Really enjoy this podcast; it always makes me laugh and shares interesting stories.

A podcast for sinophiles, literature aficionados, and people with even a passing interest in intelligent discussion about stories and narrative that usually requires a $90,000 grad school education. Rob and Lee are not only funny but incredibly smart and proficient in their field, and showcase...Read full review »
