Dr. Richard Bistline is challenging the status quo in leadership development practices across the law enforcement and public safety professions. His passion is to help organizations leverage and adapt evidence-based training and talent development practices to build more people-centric cultures. His work focuses on helping others understand the importance of self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and professional growth through a change in mindset.
Rick is an accomplished speaker and renowned law enforcement and security trainer. He has over three decades of experience in the public safety sector, twenty of those working as a police officer and senior police instructor. He now helps guide the next generation of criminal justice and private industry leaders as an adjunct professor, facilitator, consultant, and coach. His role at the Arbinger Institute allows him to focus on helping organizations create high-performance cultures that drive exceptional results.
Rick holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and a Doctorate in Public Safety from Capella University, specializing in Organizational Leadership. He is also an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) and certified Leadership Program Measurement Specialist obtained through the Doerr Institute for New Leaders at Rice University. Rick lives in Phoenix, Arizona, with his wife, Susan, and their two Labrador retrievers.
