Ricky is one of the Co-Founder and Director of SafeBoda. He left his home in Dokolo with nothing but a green kavera (polythene bag)  in search for a better life in Kampala. He later got a job as a security guard before saving up and purchasing a motorbike. He joined the bodaboda business and his life begun to turn around for the better.  However, he also witnessed more than his share of accidents during his time, the worst being the loss of a good friend in late 2013. This made him start to seriously think about the observance of safety standards among bodaboda riders in Uganda, and that’s when he saw a gap that he could address.
