“I picked up this podcast because of Lee's connection to Disney, but I had no idea he had such a long and successful career in management at Marriott before joining The Disney Company. That just adds even more credibility to what he has to say.
As others pointed out, a lot of what Lee says is indeed common sense, but "common sense" ain't that common. And sometimes it helps to hear from somebody else the things you (think you) already know. Lee has a talent for reiterating these "common sense" notions, backed by his perspective and years of experience, so they crystallize in your mind better than ever.
Jody usually asks great questions, and does a great job of keeping the focus squarely on Lee, but Jody's delivery and a few of his questions can sound a bit too "canned" at times, in my opinion. Perhaps that scripting is needed to keep the podcast on-point and within the 15-minute time frame, but it'd be nice if the back-and-forth sounded just a bit more conversational.
I also sometimes wish that Lee would stay away from giving opinions on parenting. Not that I disagree with what Lee says, necessarily, but such topics are not why I listen to the podcast.
But those are just nit-picks. 98% of the time, I find myself listening to the show and thinking "This is awesome! I wish this podcast came out five years ago!"”Read full review »
