“I have to say, I am a very picky listener/watcher. I can find little things to make me decide I don't like the show. This is not in a snotty way, by any means. To be honest, I think it's my ADD. If something doesn't grab my attention right away, it's over for me lol So, years ago, I attempted to watch the show Dark Minds on ID. I loved the idea but did not care for the way it was presented. So, when I saw that Phelps had a podcast, I immediately assumed I wouldn’t like it. I listen to lots of podcast and one day I ran out of unplayed episodes. Crossing the Line came up as one I may like and I finally listened. I was so upset with myself for being so presumptuous. I believe the majority of the podcast hosts are truly genuine with their compassion for the victim. But, with Phelps, there is no doubt. I realize he has experienced the impact of murder first hand with his sister-in-law and maybe that is why, because he understands. But, he expresses that same compassion and empathy with every single case he tells. He has brought me to tears more than once with the way he describes the immense fear or pain of the victim or the impact caused to the loved ones. I believe the reason for this is because he is truly genuine and you can feel it in his telling. Being so picky, I typically only like narrative shows with a single host but I really like the energy between him and Cristina. She is able to lighten the mood with her quick wit or little jabs at Phelps. I'm excited by this new found interest because I am also a member of Audible and I am now going to listen to some of his books. 📚”Read full review »

“I love the dynamic between the two of you. It's really unique the way the two of you interact. I love the random jokes while staying serious. You're right- it's not too heavy. This will be very successful!!”Read full review »

“Super fan of his books and overall this podcast. But his producer’s inappropriate laughter at uber-serious moments is distracting and disrespectful IMHO.”
