“It's no fun to hear anyone talk about subjects they're not really familiar with....let alone in a dry, dull, scorning fashion. Slate's Culture Gabfest is a snooze. For instance, listening to a few intelligent nerds dissect Conan O'Brien, when they know neither his origin nor his appeal, is not only frustrating, but a complete waste of time. That's just one example. Their treatment of Eminem was even more off-base and steeped in ignorance. What's the point?
My beef isn't that one needs be an expert on a subject to make an interesting broadcast...check out "Stuff You Should Know" hosted by two very regular-sounding guys who are usually learning about the subject at hand along with you. However, they make it entertaining by simply....saying interesting things and displaying a little personality. There's something SCG hosts should know.”Read full review »

They sound like really old friends hanging out and talking about the highlights of pop culture. They always sound like they are having...”Read full review »
