They spoil movies
On numerous occasions now they have spoiled the ending of a movie that was released in theaters no more than 2 weeks before the podcast. These people are apparently under the impression that you can spoil anything as long as you quickly say the phrase "spoiler alert" a split second before. That doesn't give you enough time to do anything. And even if it did it's still a hastle to predict how long they are going to spoil a movie and therefore how long you have to fast forward. You would think that a journalist would only risk ruining a movie for their audience if there was some huge payoff for them doing so but there never is; it's always just some trivial side note that leads to the spoilers. As a big fan of other Slate podcasts, I was pretty excited about this one, but it really is the weakest of the bunch.
