“OH! LOOK AT ME! My opinion of American culture is more valid because I'm an over-educated egghead ... Snooze. I listened to this podcast for months (why exactly I can't answer) but was moved to finally unsubscribe (and write this) after listening to Stephen Metcalf's pretentious dismissal of Quentin Tarantino's work. Granted, I'm a Tarantino fan (and believe his films carry MUCH more artistic weight than may initially appear - they're Trojan horses DESIGNED to seem like fluffy fun) but for this moron to casually comment that Tarantino will be a forgotten footnote in 20 years is BEYOND stupid. Even if you don't like his work, there's NO QUESTION that, objectively, he's probably the single most INFLUENTIAL director in modern American cinema, moron. Just like the literary critics who dismissed Shakespeare and the music critics who initially dismissed the Beatles, YOU ARE WRONG and it is YOU who will be forgotten in 20 years. Sorry that Tarantino (like the Beatles and Shakespeare before him) has the rare gift to make art that is simultaneously brilliant AND raucously appealing and entertaining to the masses, Stephen. I'm sure it's hard for you to understand this aesthetic because you're so worried about liking a film that the professors in your college film studies classes (those who can't do, teach) wouldn't approve of ... All that said, the two women on the show are actually pretty consistently great and insightful and interesting, but the heaping t**d of condescension and pretense known as Stephen Metcalf (you will learn to hate his voice with one listen) ruins this whole affair. More like Guttural Crapfest.”Read full review »

A good panel show like this takes time for the participants to find their tone and hit the right level of banter. It is a great show now and will...”Read full review »

“On numerous occasions now they have spoiled the ending of a movie that was released in theaters no more than 2 weeks before the podcast. These people are apparently under the impression that you can spoil anything as long as you quickly say the phrase "spoiler alert" a split second...”Read full review »
