Loved this podcast with the original crew. But when this new crew of cast and writers took over I found myself turning it off more than turning it on. The script is stilted and fake feeling. And I’m really tired of listening to “Explorers” tooting their own horns. I loved this podcast originally...Read full review »

I thought it was just me... But seems like a lot of people are having a hard time with the new hosts. I tried my best giving it a shot. But it just doesn't have the same feeling. It doesn't seem natural and yes, cringy at times. I guess I'll just enjoy the old episodes and other...Read full review »

I understand the hosts are trying to make learning new facts, interesting but they need to stop trying so hard. I just picked up this cast and could barely get through an episode because of the lame humor. Stop it. I felt this podcast was made for preteens and younger. Too silly and...Read full review »

The show is so scripted now, including these stupid jokes that are supposed to be natural and improvised. Unsubscribing now- long time listener

still listening to older shows to catch up. its my go-to podcast while walking the dog. I learn some really awesome things about every science imaginable even though I am no spring chicken. Love, love, love it. The corny jokes have grown on me and I no longer groan (see what I did there....)
dinahbooboo via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 06/16/22
The content is good, but the banter is so annoying that I don’t know if I can keep listening. An occasional joke is fine but these guys try to make a bad joke with every line they speak. Please stick more to the content!

I stumbled upon this podcast and I like it. Quick bites of science. I like that the references are sourced in the notes so I can read more if I want. The banter between the hosts is a little hokey.

I couldn’t even get through my first episode of corny jokes badly done and another man condescendingly explaining things to a women who is acting stupid. I love science podcasts but I won’t be subscribing to this one.

Please stop “trying” so hard to be “funny”, coz the jokes are so lame, those are so forced, and don’t show characters of the casts or their personal hobbies. It used to be a charm of the old crew, especially cody, coz we knew his jokes are written/ made by him, from the things he’s really...Read full review »

They’ve taken a great podcast and ruined it The previous hosts were Much,Much better. The new hosts are incredibly annoying! Too annoying to listen to. Deleting podcast.

I love this podcasts and I don’t mind the new hosts but the jokes are forced and juvenile and I can’t handle it. A joke isn’t necessary every other sentence. Lose the lame jokes and just be real. The content itself is interesting enough.

I used to be a daily listener for the longest time. The new crew (2022) is as if talking to children listeners, and i’m not sure even kids would appreciate the forced dumb-down goofy dialogue. It’s an UNFOLLOW path for me at this point, unfortunately.
Gori20 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 04/27/22
This podcast had the potential to be one of my favorites, lots of useful cool info. But I physically cannot listen to it because I cringe so hard at the forced “silly goofy 🤪” humor, think a 12 year old first discovering what puns are. Honestly the worst part isn’t just the jokes, it’s the forced...Read full review »

Always love the information. The new hosts are just too awkward and force too many things. For having a previous show together, they just do not sound great. Sorry but unsubscribing.
k_dub21 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 04/15/22
The show continues to be as entertaining with new hosts as it was with the old house but the cutesy banter is getting to be too much and too juvenile. Please tone it down. It almost becomes nauseating at times.
ldweisberg via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 04/14/22
The new hosts sound forced, tinny, and trite. It does not make any sense why Cody and Ashley were replaced. I love the format and the content but I don’t enjoy the changes AT ALL.
Kimo mom via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 04/13/22
Ashley and Cody were this show. It’s a shame that Discovery got rid of them only to keep this show going with some “sound-alike” hosts. I don’t know what went on behind the scenes here, but the outcome is this show ain’t what it was and idk if these new hosts are the right fit. They’re too...Read full review »

So frustrated and sad that they replaced BOTH the hosts with people who sort of sound like them. No info online about why this happened. The script was choppy and sounded fake and poorly acted. Couldn’t even listen to a full episode. So disappointed.

Tuned in because of Nate & Calli and already really enjoy it just from one new episode. Will likely listen to the back catalogue and excited for N/C to put out more new episodes.

I listened to this show nearly every day. Cody and Ashley were pretty decent hosts. I didn’t love every joke by any means, but I liked their authenticity and what they were going for. This show was great when it was Ashley and Cody. Then one day they were gone with promises of new episodes from Disocovery. Months later we got our taste of the new hosts and I’m not impressed. This used to be a great podcast - one of my favorites that I listened to every day. Then along came Discovery. First it was more and more ads. The info is still great, but it’s not as good with only one host. The chemistry between Ashley and Cody was a huge draw for the show. Jokes don’t land in a monologue with no audience or co-host.

Content-wise? Yay! Suddenly behind a paywall? Are you serious? There's been advertising for a long time —and— you're part of a media group with plenty of advertising. I feel scammed. I don't want to pay $5/mo for this, especially if I can't listen on Overcast. It's triply...Read full review »

Ashley, you earned this five star review when you mentioned Barber’s Adagio for Strings (I LOVE this piece of music!) at the end of the 12/9/21 show re: the anticipation in Mozart’s Sonata for Two Pianos in D Major can reduce epilepsy seizures. Love the show!

This podcasts is fantastic. To quote the kids today- it slaps. First I love that it’s so short. They don’t meander, they get right to the story. But I love the banter when they do have it.
