“Have enjoyed listening to the pod for a while now, but lately - especially during this year's TDF coverage (2022) - I'm really missing the adults in the room; Dane Cash gone, Abby (sp?) off on maternity leave, and Kit, who is pretty new to the pod, but added a lot to this year's Giro coverage.... TDF coverage this year is just way too juvenile for my sensibility and knowledge of mens pro cycling.
Thankfully during 2022 TDF coverage, Pippa York makes an appearance every few episodes to elevate all aspects of the conversation. Johnny (sp?) sounds like an adult when interviewing her, then switches back to 12 year old mode when with the crew 😖
Iain Treolar writes beautiful, well researched long format articles, but sadly his smarts are not coming across in pod format...
I'll keep scrubbing through the TDF episodes to listen to the ones that Pippa is involved with, skip to the the last 5-10 minutes for Josée B's history/ geography lesson.
Crossing my fingers that when the crew get back to America and Abby or Kit are back to corral them , that they manage to regain their footing as an informative place for pro cycling analysis.
I'll keep tuning in, but only have a finite amount of time to listen to bike racing pods; this one is currently not making my top three.
