While the hosts often remind us of their bona fides as former racers and journalists, this nominal podcast, about a dying sport ruled by white men, is remarkable for its lack of insights, painful jokes, and the struggles of host Abbe Micke to use English in a coherent manner (she makes up at...Read full review »

I note with pleasure that most journalists are leaving cycling tips because Outside decided to fire CT’s key assets. Most fans are leaving too. Outside, you have destroyed a brand - nice work dummies.

I will give Nerd alert all my attention and five stars if James Huang stays as helming it. With Caley as the face of this podcast, it was mediocre at best. There were often times where this podcast is aimless rambling with bad sound quality and people who’s voices are so compressed it’s hard to...Read full review »

The 5 stars is to hopefully boost the morale of the crew. I’ve been a longtime listener and overtime it seems they get more and more miserable every episode. Complaining about life and work in every intro and Abby always annoyed at everyone else. I understand the podcast isn’t the main part of...Read full review »

The equipment reviews are objective and fair. The Paris-Roubaix episode was really good, the sounds of the race captured are very cool. This podcast has a lot to offer. It’s uncanny but true that Caley, Fred Dreier and Fran Drescher are, in fact, one in the same person: Thrace-Face. Are Abby...Read full review »

Great new find, now a daily staple. Little chunks of cycling inspiration on an almost daily basis. Improves week on week. Makes you want to ride and improve. Podcast with a real human touch.

If you want a British podcast about cycling, I can think of a few others that do it better. I remember the final velo news podcast where Ben Delaney was paired with some board stiff English dude. Predumably his new boss. The following week, Ben and the pod were gone. Nothing against our...Read full review »

Caley is building something better there. Agree, Outside is bad.

Since the cull of popular presenters I won’t be downloading anymore cycling tips instead I will be enjoying the new show by those presenters on their new podcast

Was always less of a news show and more like a group of hardcore cycling fans hanging out. Good takes but very little original reporting other than what any fan can read online. Plus excellent tech coverage from James Huang, the best in the business. We’ll see what happens now that Caley...Read full review »

I gave 5 stars because I like the podcasters and their knowledge. I don’t like what Outside+ is doing to cycling in general. I’m sorry that Caley has been fired.

Snow flakes & BLM supporters states it all. Never a positive word about cycling. Were quick too cancel Quinn Simmons or any person /country who doesn’t meet their narrative. Dave disregard the above your a legend

The latest episode, 30.11. Amy is like so annoying, like you know, the overuse of the word “like”… Seriously, even if you don’t have “media training”, still, try to speak in proper sentences. That’s why I can’t listen to the Freewheeling podcast anymore. Kit Nicholson is so much better and...Read full review »

CT was my go to cycling podcast. I recommended to friends on a regular basis. When the folks got silly (which was often, Caley crafly brought the podcast back on point. He added salient points to subjects and was a well spoken and logical thinker. I’ll give the surviving folks a few tries but so...Read full review »

Having been a long term fan of the CT Podcast it was heartbreaking to hear of the changes made by CTs parent company. I don’t think Outside know what a crucial role Caley, Mat and Dane played in making this podcast work. While those left behind will do their best, they do not have the passion,...Read full review »

That ridiculous sigh and exhale, not to mention how he’d make fun of and ridiculed some Pro riders like he is a God given specimen on the bike. Why is he acting like he is the only one who can host the podcast.

Long time listener, first time reviewer. I’m in a similar boat to Abbey (my daughters name is Abi!) with an 8month old. Super keen to take her on rides to the grandparents house. I generally enjoy the podcast, however, I felt that the final discussion of whether or not you would do a follow up podcast of The Vuelta was snarky. I don’t usually listen to this, but caught the pod during TdF and found myself laughing along to the great conversation and insights on backstories. Have enjoyed listening to the pod for a while now, but lately - especially during this year's TDF coverage (2022) - I'm really missing the adults in the room; Dane Cash gone, Abby (sp?) off on maternity leave, and Kit, who is pretty new to the pod, but added a lot to this year's Giro...Read full review »

I tuned in to hear in-depth cycling analysis, but I ended up getting so much more, like a deep dive on the traditional peat-based heating methods of Ireland. Much better than hearing the 100th analysis of how Jumbo can team up to put Pogi under pressure!

Love the pod. Amazing chat. Wish Caley was a bit less obsessed with moving the conversation on all the time - it’s your podcast mate, take as long as you need! Relax! The topics discussed are usually interesting. However some of the hosts would need a bit media training. Often difficult to understand and it just does not ‚flow‘ when they talk. Caley Fretz however is outstanding.

So heard the news that Dane was fired. Given that he was one of my favorite people on the pod — the others being Abby & James — I am sad & the pod (as well as the magazine) is far the less for it. Too many presenters who seem either to be clueless about bike racing (most of them), inarticulate (Dave Everett) or sound like they don’t want to be there (Abby Micky)….only Caley Fretz worth listening to but that means putting up with the others which I can no longer do.

I’ve sampled various cycling podcasts over the past few years and CyclingTips and Nerd Alert are the only ones I find myself coming back to. I’ll miss Abby when she’s away for maternity leave — she really has made the show gel and is really the only one who can control Caley.
