One of the best true crime podcasts i have listened to, and i love that it is Canadian. The hosts take a conscientious and respectful approach in discussing the hard topic of true crime. Overall an amazing listen, and binge!

Like the sensitivity you guys have when covering true crime. I am a big fan of the historical Canadian content with the personal touch like Broken Arrow and Vancouver Hockey riots. You add a lot of life to what were pretty bland news stories. Thanks for not forgetting us in Newfoundland and...Read full review »

Gentlemen, my husband and I are professors (I work on European literature and he works on South Asian religion). He was so excited by your coverage of the Komagatu Maru incident! Dark Poutine is MY podcast that I discovered! Just kidding Scott and Mike — I just feel a bit possessive as you...Read full review »

Like the podcast, however having to skip the final 20ish minutes of every episode due to voicemails and patreon subscribers is tiresome. I enjoy the stories but don’t care much for the end of show banter

Love Mike and Scott. These guys love to get the stories out there. But their friendship and way they tell the story, take a listen.

While the hosts come across as good old Canadian boys, the podcast has been hijacked by a politically correct tone that has become annoying.

This podcast is like listening to two regular guys shooting the you-know-what at your local Tim Horton's. Well researched and they find the right balance between serious and goofy. I keep coming back to this one!Read full review »

An array of topics covered on the darker side of Canadian history and recent events. Enough humour to keep you feeling like your friends with the hosts but not too much banter. Factual and transparent 12/10 recommend for anyone looking for something Canadian based. There’s a fair view Canadian...Read full review »

I live in Moncton New Brunswick and was only 4 when this happened. I was told about it by my grandfather who raised me when I was older. Cy’s restaurant was THE restaurant of the city for many years, it was the place to go to celebrate proms, graduations, all those special occasions. Such a sad...Read full review »

Dark Poutine was recommended to me a little over a year ago. Normally, with podcasts I listen to a couple of them and then move onto something else. I have listened to EVERY EPISODE. They’re very respectful to the victims, Mikes writing allows you to become fully immersed in scenic details, while...Read full review »

I found Dark Poutine a year ago and was instantly hooked. Mike and Scott show so much respect to the victims while still adding some humour to the stories. I love the banter and look forward to each new episode. Keep up the awesome job guys!

Agree with many others, jokes are often inappropriate for the topic being discussed, too lighthearted and the lady co-host comments are disingenuous and irritating adding nothing to the story being told.
Youngnewf via Apple Podcasts · Canada · 05/15/20
Like the commentary and the way the stories are told.

Most podcasts hosted by men (particularly true crime ones) bug me to no end - they all seem to enjoy themselves a little too much. But Mike & Scott do such a perfect job of telling the story, taking space for the victims, and respecting everyone involved (even the listeners). It feels like...Read full review »

What the hell is wrong with these two clowns? They treat the whole thing as a joke. The show is good usually. But when they start lecturing about how many guns Americans need they lose me. I’m a former American federal inmate and like true crime but I don’t like the disparaging US commentary.
Inmate27474016 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 04/26/20
Being American it’s interesting to listen to other crimes that you’re not familiar with in other countries. The hosts are a little different and quirky, but they’ve both been through traumatic events in their lives so they have a different perspective when it comes to true crime. True Crime fans will like how many episodes there are and a lot of it is interesting, but the hosts must write some stuff that they then read to the listener and the writing is frequently just kind of bad. They often kind of bash the criminal as a person before they were even committing crimes....Read full review »

This podcast does a wonderful job choosing Canadian-related crimes. I have learned so much about cases I have never heard about or knew very little about!
