Somehow making terrible incidents sound somewhat “fun” and educational
Though some of the topics are admittedly too dark for me… I really enjoy the banter of the hosts as well as Mike’s obvious careful preparation for each episode. You can tell he’s done his research and written with calculated care rather than riffing off-the-cuff. The subjects are treated seriously, but the context is treated with some humor and lightness. Overall, makes very bitter pills, much easier to swallow as they expose bits of history that you may have seen briefly in the news, but have much more backstory. They are especially careful to be respectful of the victims in the heinous crimes they document.

More reviews of Dark Poutine
This podcast is gravy; two fantastic hosts & a number of great topics. Their smooth voices combined with that strange, quintessentially Canadian sense of humour keeps it consistently laughable and macabre. Shout out to Kristi Lee of the Canadian True Crime Podcast for suggesting Dark Poutine...Read full review »

I love my true crime podcast, but mix in anything Canadian and I’m all for it. One of my new favs.

I have been making my way through All the true crime podcasts out there and love the dynamic commentary that these wonderful Canadians have. I live in Toronto so hearing about crimes in my own country makes it that much more intriguing! Keep it up guys ❤️
