Description
WELCOME BACK FRIENDS!!! In recognition of the various atrocities happening in the world, we sought to bring you an episode that highlights one of the current genocides, specifically: Sudan. In this episode, we sat down with Yasmine, (known as The Jasmine Blossoms)- A young Sudanese-American, to discuss the war and genocide in Sudan. Our conversation starts with a comparison between Toronto and New York, followed by Yasmine sharing the meaning behind her name and her journey as an author and poet. With historical context, Yasmine uncovers the intricacies of what led to the current situation in Sudan. We touch on the struggles of dictatorship, civil wars and exploitation of resources in Africa. The importance of raising awareness, amplifying voices, and taking action to support Sudan is emphasized. The conversation concludes with a call to make dua for Sudan and to work towards a unified and democratic Sudan.
