Story that is of paramount importance to our life. Never new that Germany had such serious problems. Must listen.

I’m a historian, with a double Ph.D. In American and German 20th century history. This podcast is incredibly well done, deeply researched, grippingly narrated (music is also terrific), and chillingly relevant to both Germans and Americans … today, right now. Listen!

Hard to believe this story, hard to hear it, impossible not to be outraged by the details. It continues until end 2023 and supposedly beyond. Thanks for this excellent podcast

The story basis is fascinating but the presenter says 5 words and stops talking. Then another 5 and stops. Over and over and over. It’s so annoying that I stopped hearing the story and only heard her terrible narration. Such a shame she didn’t listen to herself speak or ask for an honest opinion...Read full review »

This podcast tells a terrifying but honest story about a plague at the heart of Germany but which easily applies to many free societies. This podcast should be required listening for all people. Thank you to all involved in producing this - am hoping there are additional updates because I feel...Read full review »

Given the news from Germany on other soldiers & policemen going rogue, is there going to be season 2? Also would it make sense to also cover people like T**** - like what’s his deal? Works in government, seems extremely dodgy and won’t get fired (hmm yes he was at the murder scene when a...Read full review »

True democracy is so fragile... I'm not sure humans are intelligent or empathic enough to uphold it. Everyone should listen to this podcast. 5 starsRead full review »

Highly recommend. The story and topics covered by this podcast are well researched and expertly presented to the listener. The script is not overworked, allowing for the real-life events to speak for themselves. The narrator also doesn’t find the need to insert herself into the piece, a common...Read full review »

This is a terrific podcast—the writing and pacing are top drawer, and Katrin Bennhold’s delivery is first-rate. Particular kudos to the music team, who match mood with notes and tunes perfectly. The topic is chilling, and every voter living in a representative democracy should listen and...Read full review »

This show is intolerable. The story is relevant enough it’s interesting. But she speaks like 3 words at a time with the most random pauses in the middle of sentences. I rarely write reviews but this was so poorly narrated it warranted the review.

After hearing the first episode on The Daily, I couldn’t wait for the next one. The story is chilling enough in itself but Katrin’s narration really brings out the intensity of the issue.

This is a brilliant podcast and I am so grateful for it! Now I understand my parents’ obsession with WWII. As a Black American and a German American they had their distinct experiences. But we’re both fearful that it wasn’t really over. So wise.

As a French Jew, I lost two dozen members of my family in the death camps of WWII. I live in the United States, and when Trump was elected I sensed that there was an undercurrent of white supremacy ready to become public and active. This podcast confirmed my fears. Das Podcastformat zeigt mal wieder seine Stärken mit Inhalten und Themen wie diesen. Das gegenwärtige Potenzial des Rechtsextremismus wird durch die Interviews mit Beteiligten und Betroffenen beunruhigend deutlich.

I’m hoping for more! As disturbing as the topic is, it’s also extremely important not to turn a blind eye (or deaf ear?) to it.

This is such a great though shocking podcast. It reveals the magnitude of the far right in Germany and shows how everything is connected. For too long germans have been blind on the right eye… by now we‘re more aware but still in the midst of it. Thank you for your excellent work!
SillyFilmlover via Apple Podcasts · Germany · 07/06/21
A well researched, interesting and topical story about the rise of nationalism and right wing fanaticism in modern Germany. I couldn’t help but make parallels to what we are seeing here in the US. I love the production values.

A frightening scenario and yet we see the same happening here in the US. Hatred is rampant and the ignorance of history abhorrent. Thank you for the outstanding reporting. We all need to hear and understand.
