“I hesitate to leave a one-star review, because I too am a podcaster & I appreciate the work that goes into a podcast. That said, Slate is a money-maker, so I feel like all bets are off in this case.
I love Dear Prudence. I've been reading the column for years, and I really enjoy Mallory's opinions. That said, this podcast is dreadful. You get 10 minutes of her giving a diatribe at the beginning of every episode, then an introduction to a guest, then the questions. This is where the biggest issue for me comes in. For every question you get 15 minutes+ of Mallory and her guest giving the same answer, over and over again. You hear the answer once, you get their opinions and they should move on. Instead, there is endless discussion where the same thing is repeated non-stop. Plus the word "like" is inserted before every response. If the show could be tightened up, I'd resubscribe. :(”Read full review »
