“Diane is a really wonderful podcast, the hosts are warm, astute, and are clearly well read. They fill in a great deal of background information on key topics like the real murders that inspired Leo Johnson's character, the real-life mysticism Wyndam Earle is involved in, and works that influenced and inspired Lyncha and Frost during the writing.
Lots of interesting ideas are introduced, with references to books and concepts that you can easily read into further, whilst remaining accessible and introducing new ideas with simple explanations.
This is a podcast made by people who deeply love the show, whilst still being able to address it's flaws in a balanced way. With a show where so many minorities are represented (and often in ways that would not be considered sensitive by today's standards), and that deals with themes as difficult as child abuse and murder, it is refreshing to hear a considered, balanced, and open minded take on some of these stickier issues.
Rather than trying to 'solve' Twin Peaks, Diane holds a candle up to it so you can see more of just how intricately crafted it really it. It brings out the complexities of the mystery.
The podcast comes out to a good schedule regular, the sound quality is always good, there's not a lot of waffle or wasted air time and there is a good sense of flow throughout each episode as well as between episodes. I sincerely hope that the hosts find ways to continue podcasting well into the future, as they finish up their season 2 rewatch and move on to Fire Walk With me and Season 3 (when it is released).”Read full review »

Maybe I am biased as I live a little way up the...”Read full review »
